Our areas of focus are raising awareness, personal advocacy and fundraising.
(Oprah, The Today Show, TED, Fox affiliates, NBC affiliates, ABC, TLC, local and national magazine and newspaper articles, AOL Health, Livestrong, etc...are some examples of press for BEAT DYSTONIA)
The press is happily ongoing.
The awareness related to BEAT DYSTONIA is key for all of us.
Zero cost.
All monies for research grants will be overseen by the most well-respected Dystonia researchers and doctors in the country, so monies are going to the most pressing and cutting edge research.
As far as referrals, I have numerous top specialists that I speak with regularly and they have all been willing to make referrals for those who are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed. I advocate as a fellow patient and then I let the good doctors do their thing.
Mutual support is so key for all of us -- as is a more appropriate amount of money that should be allocated for Dystonia.
You are not alone in this.
Best,
Rogers Hartmann
